How it all started

My adventure with collage started as a teenager, when my older sister and I would often spend our time together creatively. She introduced me to collage and since then, it has been the only art form where I felt truly at peace.

Growing up in a small village in Poland, I was never encouraged to pursue my passion, being an artist simply wasn't seen as a real career choice.

Although I never even imagined working as a full-time artist, I still followed what my heart was telling me. I chose an art-focused program in high school, and in 2013 earned a Visual Artist Diploma after finishing a college course. In 2023, I attended a Retail Display course for my job here in Dublin, and that helped me rediscover my creativity once again.

After that, I decided to finally pursue my long-time passion professionally and started Cat and Paste Studio. The amazing community I discovered online helped me gain confidence and grow as an artist. The rest is history, and you are now a part of it by being here :)

Creative process

In my work, I use recycled materials like vintage magazines and books to create pieces that connect with people. I love creating physical art, especially in this digital era, where people can generate images instantly without any real connection to their own creativity or appreciation for the process.

I grew up in a rural area, always surrounded by nature and animals, and those themes are clearly visible in my work today. I like to explore different things and get all my inspiration from what I currently surround myself with, whether it is pictures, people, or places I visit.

My process is very much in the moment. I rarely plan ahead. I just follow what feels right as I cut, move things around, and see what works. It's all about the feeling, the textures, and letting the images
lead the way.
